SHW Design have been involved with the refurbishment of the existing and development of the new extension over a 9 year period.  Working closely with the Food & Beverage team, we assisted will all back and front of house service points and kitchens.

Due to the scale of the project and phasing, the project was allocated two independent contracting teams.

When English Heritage decided to build a visitor centre at Stonehenge, one of England’s most iconic tourist attractions, SHW was picked to design the café.

In keeping with the £27m, state-of-the-art centre, the brief was for a modern, spacious café with the capacity to provide snacks and refreshments to some 800,000 people a year who will come to see the prehistoric stones and to learn about the history of the site.

The 110-seater counter service café serves hot and cold food, including drinks, soup, pasties, sandwiches and salads. Diners can sit inside or outside, enjoying spectacular views to the west.
